Gordon Clauss is a serial entrepreneur, and the creative inventor behind many of the innovative holistic solutions marketed by the company.
20 years ago, he discovered beekeeping, and ended up with more than 2,000 hives on his 200-acre farm in the panhandle of Florida outside Panama City.
During his deep immersion in the beekeeping industry, he met Lawrence Cutts, head of the Apiary Department of the University of Florida. Lawrence had an idea of how to attack the small hive beetle crisis, and Gordon helped him bring his idea to fruition in the form of the Better Beetle Blaster.
Gordon used his extensive business experience to design, produce, market and launch the product, which was recognized as the most successful new product in the global bee supply industry in the past 100 years.
He then developed and launched the Vespa Shield in Europe, preventing the Vespa Velutina "Murder Hornet" from attacking European hives and killing the bees years before they ever reached the States.
Then in 2019, he developed the Clauss Hive Dome, a brilliant innovation which controls the humidity and temperature inside bee hives, creating a terrarium-style non-invasive ability to inspect the hive to ensure the colony's well being. The result is an X% increase in year-round honey production, based on the benefit of a controlled environment and reduction of hive stress.
And in 2020, he is attacking the Verroa mite crisis, with the innovative Clauss Verroa Collector which hijacks the mite's reproduction patterns to interrupt its breeding cycle, resulting in the total elimination of Verroa mites in infested colonies in three 21-day cycles. It also eliminates the Verroa swarm which causes 60% of bee colonies to swarm away to establish a new hive, often leaving the beekeeper with an abanonded hive and no income.
The Verroa Collector is being launched in October 2020, and will be available through all the leading apiary products distributors, which already distribute the other products from Bee Box Solutions.
